When I stop at a light or at a stop sign and then try to accelerate my rpms jump down and then it shuts off what might that be.

I accidentally left my car lights on, and the battery died. Upon jumpstarting it, i was pushing the gas pedal forward, and it went limp. The gas pedal now pushes in just fine upon acceleration, but it jiggles like it's loose. How do i fix this/ what's wrong? Thanks

My truck died on me on the way to work the other day. No warning and would not start. It has an HEI distributor and didn't have spark so I thought ignition module. Replaced it and nothing. I replaced the distributor with a reman, no spark. I took another distributor off a running 350 of mine and put it in, no spark. I changed coils and caps and rotors around between the three distributors I have, all of which will start the 350 I have. The problem engine is a small block 400. I disconnected the power wire from the ignition and ran a jumper wire from the battery to the B+ on the distributor for the second time and all the sudden I had spark. Engine would only fire on a couple cylinders and found the timing was off. I moved the distributor over one tooth, put everything back had intermintant spark and fist and the engine would not fire at all then after a few trys, back to no sark. I am guessing it is a ground problem with the distributor????? Does anyone have any ideas!!! I am running out of things to try. Thanks

i replaced the starter and it started two or three times , and now its back to a glunking noise and not starting, i dont get , unless it not geting enough voltage? i dont know.

91 Cherokee, 4.0-V6, Will turn over but takes several times along with holding down the gas pedal then will finally start, usually just before starting you can see the check engine light start to get bright and the battery light will come on. When it finally starts the engine usually dies. It takes two to three times of dying then it finally starts and runs fine! If the engine stays warm it starts right back up, if the engine is cold I have to go through the process listed above. Any ideas? Today I shot one quick burst of starting fluid into the air intake and it started right up! after not being able to start it. Battery is less than a year old.

i have a 1994 GMC Yukon 4x4 V8 gas it was running fine then all of a suden lost power while i was driving. Also it would lunge forward evry so often after the lose of power i could not go more than 25 mph after that i hooked a computer up to my truck and it read no relay to the ecm

Help!!! My 2002 Ford Explorer was running ok, went to do laundry started it up fine, went to go down street was ok, stopped at red light and when turned green and hit gas the power died and dropped was able to manuever the car VERY ROUGh to get it to safe place on side of road but now car has trouble starting back up, if it starts all i get is low power for 30 seconds and then it dies again. have not been able to get it to start again. spark plugs changed, oil is good, gas is in car. any other ideas? the car will turn over but after it start theres just no power running to it. looking to see what it might be and possible costs, if too expensive will look for a new car.

my 94 jeep cherokee sport starts then after it warms up it shuts off like a light switch but will restart after it is off for a while

We have a 1999 Chevy Express (V6) van that is having intermittent issues with indicator lights coming on and going off, and these seem to be tied into the fan for AC/Heat.
When you start up the ABS light will be lit, and sometimes the brake light (even though the e-brake is not engaged) these will remain on until the fan for the climate control it turned on to the high setting. There is always a delay that varies from a minutes to several minutes before the fan will finally kick on, once it does come on the idiot lights that were on turn off. We took it to a mechanic and they say that the computer module is bad, and want $700.00 for a new one. Is there anything else that can cause the above mentioned problem, and is there a fix outside of replacing the module?

the ac is always on; the temp setting makes no difference and whether or not it is set to ac. this causes my defroster to fog windshield and i just might need heat this winter. any ideas? outside of bending over and grabbing my ankles for the dealer that is? please help me figure this one out. thankyou very much.

im building a 360 for my sons 68 charger it came with a 318 in looking for a center sump oil pan for the 360 or i will have to cut outthe rear main seal section off a 360 oil pan and weld it to the 318 oil pan

Last month I lost the turn signals and tail lights on our 1993 Silverado 1500. Turned out to be a broken ground wire, fixed. Once again I'm without tail lights. This time I'm also without dash lights/insterment panel. A fuse maybe?
Neither the manual nor the info on the fuse panel tells which one that would be, anyone know? A lose/broken wire shorting out? It has been raining the last two days.

It all started when I was driving my Durango and stopped at a light. When I wentto move, I was flooring it and only going 5 mph. Eventually it shifted and threw a engine code (Shift Sylanoid A Malfunction) Did it off and on. On the way to have teh shift sylanoids replaced, it jerked and grinded the whole way there. Trans shop said my trans welded together from it overheating. Trans rebuilt, new shift sylanoids. Truck threw the same code. Took it back, nothing. Again threw a code and nothing. Finally they sent it to a computer specialist, nothing then to a dealer. They reset a computer and replaced a Pressure Sensor. It worked great for about three weeks, until today. Stuck in traffic on highway, started to hesitate when shifting. I noticed the temp runninghigh again which happens each time. It was about 240 when 210 is normal for my truck. Then it threw the same code. The whole way home,when I would stop, I could not get it going again. I don't know what to do. IT DID NOT DO THIS WHEN THE WEATHER WAS NICE OR IN THE WINTER!!!!! Help please. I am a poor teacher who really needs my truck fixed.

I have a 2000 grandprix gt.My problem is that my batterie ligth comes on while driving, then the car stops running, I have replaced the alternator and teh batterie and continue to have the same problem. But before the car stalls my ligths on the dashboard and my headligths gradually disappear. It's like the car runs out of power. I don't know what else to do.

I have no turn signals or flashers on my 1999 silverado 1500. I have checked the fuses. Could it be the flasher relay and if so where is it located at.

I have a problem when pressing my brakes instead of my passenger side brake light work working(lighting) my passenger side front turn signal light comes on solid. Sometimes it does this on both sides at the same time. I haven't got a clue I have pulled the bulbs and cleaned the sockets still does the same thing. Help Turn signals think they are brake lights Jeep is confused.

I own a 2004 Ford F-150 4x4 XLT and recently I have been having problems with the drivers side window. Sometimes when I press the button to put the window down or up it doesn't work. As of today my 16 year old took the truck to the store, attempted to close the window and heard a crunching sound. I removed the door panel and found a cable unattached. Now I have no idea where to attach the cable. I have looked online for a skematic for help but have had no luck. If anybody has any suggestions as to where I could find this I would appreciate it. My s10 wont start, sometimes. When I turn key to run position the radio will come on (unless it is off already) but I wont get any lights or gauges on the dash, turning key to start will turn over engine but it wont start. Sometimes after I turn key to run position and wait anywhere from 5 seconds to a couple of minutes the dash lights and gauges come on and I can start the truck. runs fine but will stall once in a while and may have same problem when trying to restart.
Scary thing is it has happened on highway doing 60 mph, but has only "cut out" for a sec, then back on again. And I get no check engine light, and no code on my reader that I use for the heck of it.
So, it can't be ignition switch cause radio comes on, I have been under the dash checking for lose connection, have shook, pulled, pushed every wire and plug under there without luck. To me it sound like a bad solenoid, comes on when it feels like it, but I Don't have a schematic for this truck, yet, so I son't no where to start looking. Any one have any other things I should be looking for? Any suggestions will be most appreciated!

well the truck has no power until your moving and then it will pick up fine, kind of like the brakes are stuck on, but it will also start in reverse, and reverse is where park is, it has the fl80 tranny? it has the tow package, wondering if it may be my transmission messed up or maybe some thing else... it has the 4.3 vortec in it auto.
