WALKER WILL DRIVE IN BUSCH RACE AT INDY
California native Tyler Walker who ran a few Craftsman Truck events in 2003 will be hopping into the Busch Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 7th in the Kroger 200. The Outdoor Channel plans to gain more interest in the World of Outlaws television partnership at the track which will sponsor the #74 BACE Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo that will be driven by Walker that normally is driving by Tony Rains. Walker is also the 2002 Champion of the World of Outlaws Series.
Currently The Outdoor Channel has been running the World of Outlaws Series on Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm EST, which is currently having a huge points battle between Steve Kinser and Danny "The Dude” Lasosci. Wade Sherman, the Senior Vice President of The Outdoor Channel said, "Audience response has been tremendous since we've added The World of Outlaws Series to our Wednesday night Horsepower Block. What better city than Indianapolis, the home of open wheel racing, to run a World of Outlaws paint scheme and serve notice to the racing community that The Outdoor Channel is the new home of The Outlaws. We're excited to have a previous World of Outlaws winner behind the wheel for this race. Tyler has enjoyed great success in his growth through the World of Outlaws races, and has started to make on pavement with his participation in the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck Series. His aggressive style and determination typify the mindset of the Outlaw racer, and we're pleased to play a key race in his transition to one of NASCAR's premier division.”
"To climb behind the wheel of The Outdoor Channel at IRP is a big deal for me, the coolest thing is to be tabbed to represent The World of Outlaws in a prominent NASCAR event with one of the most successful teams in Busch history. It's great to be a part of a program that blends together two outstanding series and it's great to be a part of The Outdoor Channel's commitment to both,” Tyler Walker said. BACE Motorsports owner Bill Baumgardner said of the deal, "We're thrilled to have a partnership with a sponsor who truly embraces all forms of motorsports. In addition to supporting our efforts in the Busch Series, The Outdoor Channel has climbed out of the box to invest in bringing The World of Outlaws to a new group of viewers. We're proud to be part of the effort to raise awareness of The Outdoor Channel's Outlaws partnership by putting one of their rising stars behind the wheel in Tyler Walker.”
Good luck you guys!!

BUSCH SERIES LABONTE WINS AT CHICAGO
Mike Wallace looked like he was going to make it two in a row Saturday afternoon at Chicago in the Tropicana Twister 300, but on the last lap Wallace ran out of fuel, giving the rookie Justine Labonte, who had been in hot pursuit of Wallace in the last few laps of the race. Justin Labonte, son of Nextel Series driver Terry Labonte, said after the race, "I was going to do a burnout, but I can remember my dad saying nobody should do a burnout.” Terry Labonte, who was watching his son race, said after the race, "To me, personally, it was bigger than any win I've ever had. I couldn't even talk after the race, it's pretty special, it really is, I don't know what else to say.” Jason Keller finished 2nd just below a half second behind Labonte.
Jeff Burton finished 3rd, said after the race, "He didn't have the fastest car, but something good happened to a good person and a good family, and that's pretty cool to see. He earned the race, nobody gave it to him, people will say he got lucky. They made the right call, they made the right calls to win the race.” Kasey Kahne finished 4th and Ashton Lewis finished 5th. Martin Truex Jr retains the lead in points at 52 over Kyle Busch, followed by Jason Keller.
