MAYFIELD AND DAVIS FOR 2007 Jeremy Mayfield has signed the papers to drive for Bill Davis in the number thirty-six Toyota Camry sponsored by 360 OTC which is a brand of over-the-counter pain relief medicine that is made by Rockford-Montgomery Labs based in Athens, Georgia. Mayfield will also have Dave Blaney driving on the team back in the twenty-two Caterpillar car. All parties involved are looking to a promising 2007 Nextel Cup season.
LABBE HIRED AT MB2 Veteran crew chief Richard "Slugger” Labbe who was recently released from Robert Yates Racing has been hired by MB2 Motorsports that plans an expansion in 2007. At the moment he doesn't have a specific job title, so at the moment his main focus is to work in the teams Nextel Cup teams that Joe Nemachek and Sterling Marlin race in. MB2 has seen a lot of changes this year; the biggest was that recently Bobby Ginn purchased the majority interest in the team.
CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES MARTIN WINS FOURTH IN TRUCK Mark Martin made just one pit stop on Wednesday nights O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway after starting from the pole to win his fourth Craftsman Truck Series race of 2006. On lap thirty Martin pulled into the pits under a caution flag the second of the night. On lap sixty-six the yellow flag waved again and the leaders all made pit stops while Martin stayed out and regained the lead. He held off his competitors to win when the race ended under a green-white-checkered finish. With this win it makes Martin the only driver in NASCAR to win a truck race, Busch Series and Cup Series at the track.
Current points leader Todd Bodine finished second followed by Ted Musgrave in third, Johnny Benson finished fourth and David Starr finished fifth. The races at Bristol always have lots of cautions and Wednesday nights race had nine for a total of fifty-three laps under caution.

BUSCH SERIES KENSETH WINS FOOD CITY 250 AT BRISTOL Matt Kenseth really shows why he does what he does, with fifteen laps to go in the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway he went low, he went high chasing down Kevin Harvick and passed him to win the race. Kenseth came back from being forced to the back of the field after being caught speeding on pit road early on in the race.
After starting in the thirtieth position Kevin Harvick slowly moved up positions to finally gain the lead after numerous caution flags with Kenseth in hot pursuit. Finally Kenseth after a caution flag was able to get a run on Harvick and passed him cleanly on the high side to get the lead and never looked back. After the pass Harvick radioed to his crew and said, "Wow, good move.” Harvick tried hard with two of the fourteen caution flags to catch Kenseth but couldn't making this Kenseth's first Busch Series win since May of 2005 at Darlington as well as the first Busch Series win for veteran crew chief Jimmy Fennig, who was moved to the Busch Series when Roush Racing changed personnel around.
Ron Hornaday Jr finished third, followed by Kasey Kahne in fourth and Jason Leffler. There were fourteen caution flags which tied the record for the race. With finishing second Harvick as a five hundred nineteen point lead over Carl Edwards with eight races to go in the season.

NEXTEL CUP SERIES KENSETH BACK-TO-BACK AT BRISTOL Matt Kenseth sealed the deal Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway winning the Sharpie 500 and guaranteed himself a place for the Race for the Championship. He now sits seven points behind Jimmie Johnson with two races before the final ten race shoot-out with his fourth win of 2006, who won last years race and won the Busch Series the night before. "The last two weeks have been just unbelievable, if we came into the chase like this, we'll have a shot at the championship,” Kenseth said after the race.
With just a little more than fifty laps to go Kenseth capitalized on Dale Earnhardt Jr slowing down coming out of turn four and passed him. Kenseth gave credit to his crew for the win saying, "The guys are operating at championship level. I was worried about going into the Chase and not running good. But this is about, bringing your best piece and go there and try to win some races.”
Kyle Busch finished second, Earnhardt Jr was able to hold onto a third place finish, and Scott Riggs scored his best finish of 2006 finishing fourth and Jeff Gordon finished fifth. Points leader Jimmie Johnson finished tenth but retains the lead in points. Mark Martin had a terrible night ended up finishing twenty-eighth dropping him down to tenth in points and on the bubble.
